The first scientific conference on cardiology was launched in Ibb province, organized by al-Thawra Teaching Hospital Authority in the province and the Faculty of Medicine at Ibb University in cooperation with the Heart Center at Kuwait University Hospital in the capital Sana’a.

The two-day conference, with the participation of 500 cardiovascular consultants from various provinces will discuss a number of working papers that shed light on developments in heart diseases, high blood pressure, heart failure and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Ibb governor Abdulwahed Salah pointed out the importance of holding such conferences in keeping up with all new developments, paying attention to scientific research, improving the quality of medical services and enhancing the performance of hospitals and their capabilities in treating patients.

Dr. Mutahar Al-Marwani, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, pointed out the importance of the conference and the development witnessed by the country in the specialized medical field, referring to the efforts made in preparing for the Conference.

Chairman of the Supreme Medical Council and Rector of September 21 University Dr. Mujahid Measar considered such conferences a kind of breaking the siege and a vital factor for development in the field of medicine, noting the national dimension of holding them with the wide participation of doctors from different provinces.

In turn, conference chairman and head of al-Thawra Hospital Authority in Ibb Dr. Abdulghani Ghabesha explained that the conference seeks to help cardiologists in Yemen to reach a proper diagnosis by using modern methods and techniques for patients to obtain appropriate treatment.

Ghabesha pointed out that holding the conference is an important step in light of the current circumstances that Yemen is going through under the aggression and blockade.
