GRAHAMSTOWN, SOUTH AFRICA,The 43rd edition of South Africa's National Arts Festival has kicked off in Grahamstown in Eastern Cape Province Wednesday evening.
The festival is a major economic boost for Grahamstown, generating millions of rand in spending by visitors to the city and the province.
People from all round the country and the world make their way to the sleepy city of Grahamstown for the National Arts Festival.
The opening event on Wednesday night was officiated by Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle, Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa, as well as other officials.
The shows and exhibitions will begin from Thursday and visitors will be able to enjoy 11 days of amazing art and performances until July 9.
