Al-Sabeen Maternity and Children Hospital in Sana’a witnessed on Monday the birth of four female twins to a woman in her third decade by caesarean section.
Women and childbirth specialist Dr. Faiza Mokbel, head of the team who performed the procedure, explained that the mother and the four twin babies are in good health and their condition is stable.
She noted that this was the second birth of mother Yasmin al-Zalaei from the province of Taiz, who had previously given birth to three female twins seven years earlier. A sign that the mother arrived at the hospital in case of an obstructed labour in the seventh month necessitated a successful caesarean section.
In turn, the hospital director, Dr. Mageda Al-Khatib, explained that the birth of the four twins is the first in the hospital. Commends the medical team that performed the Caesarean section and the efforts of the hospital’s medical staff to improve health care services under the difficult circumstances imposed by aggression and siege.
