The branch of the Karate Federation in the capital Sanaa on Thursday discussed on Thursday the sports activity plan of the branch and the difficulties it faces and ways of dealing with them.
The meeting approved the establishment of a championship bearing the name of the deceased Captain Ahmed Al-Ridai, former vice-president of the General Union of the game and one of the founders of karate in Yemen.
The meeting also approved the issuance of lists of trainers and referees accredited to the General Union and prepare for the work of training camp for players under the age of 17 years in the coming period.
A meeting of the heads of branches of the sports federations of the individual games in the capital secretariat discussed the performance of branches and arrangements for the establishment of a coordinating council for the branches of the capital Sanaa and election of a president and a secretary general of sports personalities.
The meeting reviewed the difficulties faced by the federations and the establishment of sports activities during the current period because of the situation in the country and the lack of financial support.
The meeting stressed the importance of activating sports activities for various sports games and give attention to the youth and athletes.
