The Undersecretary of Agriculture and Irrigation for the Services Sector Ministry , Engineer Ali Al-Qairi, reviewed the progress of the performance of the General Administration of Agricultural Extension and Information in the Ministry. During the visit, Undersecretary Al-Qairi listened to an explanation from the Director of Agricultural Extension and Information, Youssef Sabra, about the administration's activities and specializations, its available capabilities, the difficulties it faces, and the needs required to enhance its extension role. He pointed to the administration's keenness to improve and develop extension work in a way that achieves the aspirations of advancing the agricultural sector. Al-Qairi stressed the importance of the role of agricultural extension in guiding and educating farmers about optimal agricultural techniques, practices and improving the performance of the agricultural sector, increasing productivity and quality, as well as improving living conditions for farmers. He urged p reparing a database of development facilitators at the level of each village and district and selecting highly qualified trainers to activate field schools to fulfill the purpose for which they are being formed. He pointed out the importance of agricultural extension in improving agricultural productivity and enhancing sustainability in the agricultural sector, an essential element in this process and in helping to make the right decisions and develop innovative and effective agricultural practices.
