Airstrikes and Shelling Cause Devastation Across Yemeni Governorates

Jakarta:Various governorates in Yemen have been severely impacted by a series of airstrikes and shelling carried out by aggression aircraft, resulting in casualties, injuries, and significant destruction of property and infrastructure.

According to Yemen News Agency, on October 9, 2015, six citizens lost their lives and five others were injured in airstrikes targeting Al-Mokha Market in Taiz Governorate. Additionally, airstrikes in the Al-Taiziyah area claimed one life and injured another person. Several locations, including Al-Mokha and Dhubab, were targeted, leading to the destruction of homes and public property.

Engineer Saleh Al-Yazidi was killed during airstrikes on an oil pumping station in Khawlan District, Sana'a Governorate, while damage was also inflicted on agricultural areas. In Hodeida, a child was killed and five were injured near the airport due to airstrikes, which also damaged Al-Thawra General Hospital.

The attacks continued in Saada Governorate, where airstrikes demolished homes and a mosque in Jum'at Bani Bahr. Several regions in Marib Governorate also experienced multiple airstrikes, resulting in home and infrastructure damage. In the capital's municipality, the Al-Nahdain area and the Presidential Palace were targeted, damaging numerous houses.

In subsequent years, similar aggressive actions persisted. On October 9, 2016, airstrikes heavily damaged properties in Sana'a, while in 2017, over five citizens were killed in Shada District, Saada Governorate. That same year, airstrikes and artillery shelling in Hajjah, Saada, and other governorates caused further devastation.

October 9, 2018, saw airstrikes near the Red Sea Mills in Al-Hodeida Governorate and continued attacks in Saada and Jizan. The trend of violence carried on through 2019 and 2020, with airstrikes and shelling causing widespread damage and casualties across multiple districts.

On October 9, 2021, one person was killed, and three were injured by Saudi army fire in Munabbih, Saada Governorate. Extensive airstrikes were reported in several regions, including Al-Jawf and Marib Governorates, causing further damage to public and private properties.

By October 9, 2022, aggression mercenaries had established new combat fortifications in Al-Hodeida Governorate, continuing to shell various areas with artillery, inflicting ongoing harm and destruction.
