A meeting in Sana’a today, on Monday, which included the Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA Secretary-General), Ibrahim Al-Hamli, discussed the needs of the Ministry of Transport for development projects.
The meeting, which was attended by the Director of Programs at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Khaldoun Salem, discussed the requirements of the Ministry of Transport for service projects sectors, in a way that helps them provide services in accordance with relevant international standards.
At the meeting, Al-Durra stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and the Council for Humanitarian Affairs, in a way that serves the public interest, pointing to the need for the Council to communicate with donor organizations to implement projects related to the various transport sectors.
While SCMCHA Secretary-General pointed out the importance of continuing to provide transport sector services, due to their importance in humanitarian aspects.
He emphasized the provision of navigational devices for Sana’a International Airport instead of those destroyed by the aggression, pointing to the need to provide devices and equipment for the airport to enhance its navigational and humanitarian services.
