Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Ibrahim Al-Hamali discussed in a virtual online meeting with 9 donor countries' representatives, topics related to humanitarian action needed in Yemen.
The meeting touched on some problems faced the work of the humanitarianorganizations and government agencies, and the possible ways to handle them.
The Secretary-General drew attention to the importance of strengthening cooperation in implementing humanitarian projects and moving to development side because of its importance in supporting infrastructure and helping society to overcome the current conditions and find sustainable sources of income.
He pointed out the need to reduce operating expenses for organizations and work to deliver the largest grants possible to beneficiaries.
Alhamli called on donor countries representatives to open offices in Sana'a to see closely the suffering experienced by the Yemeni people and to directly supervise the grants offered by them, reiterating the council's readiness to provide the necessary facilitation for their presence in Sana'a.
The donor countries' representatives praised the cooperation of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, stressing their readiness to support the humanitarian efforts in Yemen and solve difficulties through holding periodic meetings.
