Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Raya Al-Hassan, tackled with the Yemeni Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdullah Abdul Karim Al-Dais, the overall situation in Lebanon, Yemen and the region, in light of the latest developments.

"We came to extend our congratulations on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Ahmed Al-Misri, and on behalf of the Yemeni government to the Minister who holds this position as the first Arab woman to do so. This is a source of pride to us as [Al-Hassan] has been appointed earlier as Minister of Finance and has left clear fingerprints in that area. We hope she will have an active role [in the MoI], and will be a good successor to the former minister," the diplomat said.

"We relayed to the minister our hope that the new government will abide by what has been announced regarding foreign relations and the policy of dissociation," the ambassador said, noting that Minister Al-Hassan had affirmed this principle and the Lebanese government keenness on said policy.

"We have also briefed the minister on the latest developments in Yemen, the Stockholm agreements, and what is happening in the city of Hodeidah, as well as on the legitimate government's efforts to establish security and stability, despite the intransigence of the coup militias and the failure to abide by the Stockholm decisions," Al-Dais said.
