HODEIDA, The heads of the national team of the redeployment coordination committee in Hodeida province and the United Nations Mission to Support Hodeida agreement (UNMHA) have paid a visit to the National Mine Action Center’s Branch in Hodeida.
During the visit paid on Sunday, national team’s head Maj. Gen. Ali al-Musheki and UNMHA’s head Lt. Gen. Abhijit Guha were briefed on the Center’s capabilities and its major achievements in 2020 in accordance with the Sweden ceasefire agreement.
The Center’s executive director Brig. Gen. Ali Sufra touched on the center’s most important needs, including equipping three field teams, vehicles and various medicines to start action in the province.
He pointed out to the training programs implemented by the center aiming at spreading awareness of mine risks and activating the activity of civil society organizations in this regard.
Sufra talked about the center’s devices, which have been seized in Djibouti for over a year, and then transferred to Aden province despite the center’s urgent need for them in Hodeida.
On his part, Lt. Gen. Guha stressed the importance of providing the center with its needs to continue its vital role in safeguarding people’s lives and stopping occurring more victims.
