JEDDAH, The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen have caught a number of Al-Qaeda "terrorists" in Hadramawt, east of Yemen, a statement said on Saturday.
The coalition's helicopters supported an operation of the Yemeni military's anti-terror forces Friday evening in a pre-emptive raid targeting Al-Qaeda hideouts in Mukalla city in Hadramawt, according to a coalition statement relayed by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Several Al-Qaeda leaders and militants, of different nationalities, were captured during the operation, with Ahmad Said Awwadh (Al-Zarkawi) on top.
The forces also found amounts of weapons and equipment that were prepared for potential terrorist attacks in parts of the governorate.
An operation earlier led to the arrest of Al-Qaeda second man in Yemen, also in Hadramawt.
