  • Government bulldozes tents at Change Square

    FNA 17.01.2013 Government bulldozers removed a number of tents at the southern part of Sana’a University, said resident Wadhah Hamran.

    The bulldozers were accompanied by soldiers, who started removing the camps on Tuesday in response to complaints by neighbors.
    On behalf of the residents of the area, Hamran called on authoritites to speed up the removal of the rest of the tents. He says the tents are mostly empty and disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.
    Youth and party groups involved in Change Square were moved to the northern part of the square. The houthis are resisting the removal of their tents.

  • Security forces arrest al-qaeda suspects

    FNA 14.01.13 Security forces raided a house in Jadir, outside of Sana’a, and arrested to suspected Al-Qaeda members. 

    A security source said that forces stormed the house in the early hours yesterday and arrested two men in addition to confiscating a large of explosives and explosive belts. Security forces continue to search for other cell members, the source said.
