Bayda approves removal of random gas stations

BAYDA, Feb. 01(Saba) – The Executive Offices in Bayda city and in Bayda district decided on Sunday to remove gas stations from their sites in the city and in the district that established randomly in residential neighborhoods.

The Executive Offices stressed the keenness to remove random domestic gas stations and oil derivatives sold on the black market due to their danger to citizens.

The move came after two people died and more than 60 others were injured, 20 of them in serious conditions, on Saturday when two tanks of domestic gas exploded on the main street in Bayda city.

They also confirmed the need to turn transportation lines of cars, tankers of fuel and liquefied gas outside the city and keep them away from crowded population in order to preserve the safety of citizens.

The Offices stressed the necessity of integrating efforts between the relevant authorities to improve development and service performance and coordination among various offices in a way that serves the public interest.
