The branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in Al-Hodeida province inaugurated a project to maintain and build a shelter and distribute cash assistance to the displaced in a number of districts.
The project aims to maintain and build 400 improved mobile shelters and distribute cash assistance to 1,640 displaced families in the districts of Al-Durayhimi, Al-Tuhaitaand Bayt al-Faqih.
The director of the council's branch, Jaber Al-Razhi, explained that the project to build mobile housing includes the maintenance of 200 shelters and the construction of 100 shelters for displaced families in Al-Durayhimidistrict, as well as the construction of 100 in Al-Tuhaitadistrict with the support of the Norwegian Council organization.
He stated that the cash transfers target 318 displaced families in the village of Al-Jah in Bayt al-Faqihdistrict, 896 families in Al-Durayhimi district through Norwegian Council organization, and 426 families in the same district through the Danish Council organization.
Al-Razhi indicated that these interventions come within the programs and efforts of coordination with the Supreme Council's partners to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the aggression, siege and escalation to which the directorates of Al-Hodeida province were subjected.
He pointed to suffering of a large number of displaced people in areas that witnessed violations, breaches, shelling and destruction of homes, facilities and services by the aggression and mercenaries, which caused the displacement of thousands, indicating that the return of these families requires more interventions and assistance.
