Caretaker Minister of Fisheries Wealth meets with UNDP Resident Representative

The Minister of Fisheries in the caretaker government, Muhammad Al-Zubairi, discussed on Tuesday with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Yemen, Zeina Ali, and the Deputy Resident Representative, Nadia Al-Aloumah, ways to enhance cooperation in the fishery field.

A number of topics related to the fish sector, projects implemented in cooperation between the two sides, and coordination and cooperation mechanisms during the next stage were discussed during the meeting.

In the meeting, Minister Al-Zubairi reviewed the plans and projects of the Ministry and its affiliated bodies, the needs required to rehabilitate the fish sector, and the role relied on by the UNDP in this context.

He confirmed the keenness to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry, the program, and other donor partners in order to achieve sustainability in the exploitation of marine resources.

For her part, the resident representative of the UNDP affirmed that the program was keen to mobilize funds for many important projects and interventions in the fishery sector in coordination and partnership with the Ministry and its affiliated bodies.
