A ceremony was held in Sana'a on Thursday to honor the winners of the first centers of the Youth Tournament for the Disabled and the Blind, organized by the General Federation of Sport for Persons with Disabilities and lasted four days.
The tournament was attended by 100 players representing clubs, centers, associations of the blind, the physically handicapped and wounded in war and duty, with the support of the ICRC, the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund and the Youth Fund under the auspices of the Yemeni Paralympic Committee.
At the ceremony, Minister of Youth and Sports Hassan Mohamed Zeid praised the efforts of the sports sector and the leadership of the Federation of Sports of Persons with Disabilities in organizing the tournament for the disabled and the blind, who are facing the difficulties with unswerving will and steadfastness.
He noted the participation of Al-Samoud Club for the war-wounded in the tournament competitions and the achievements of the tournament of the sport of persons with disabilities from the blind and handicapped from advanced centers in this tournament. He stressed the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for persons with disabilities in developing their abilities and talents in various games.
