TAIZ, A training course for health employees on feeding children under the age of five with severe acute malnutrition has launched in Taiz province.

The course is organized by al-Bena Foundation for Development in cooperation with UNICEF.

The 11-day course aims to provide 16 employees in Taiz, Ibb and Dhale’ province with knowledge about malnutrition and its forms.

The employees will get acquainted with proper methods of measurements, detection, and treatment of cases as well as how therapeutic feeding materials are stored and how they are distributed to detected cases.

Cases of acute malnutrition are constantly increasing due to the continuing aggression and blockade, which has led to deteriorating living conditions and food insecurity for millions of Yemenis, deputy director-general of the Public Health Office in Taiz, Dr. Fadhl al-Qubati said.
