SANAA, Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi met Sunday with the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sanaa, Franz Rauchenstein.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects related to the siege imposed on the Directorate of Al-Durihimy in Hodeidah province by the countries of the aggression coalition.
The Deputy Foreign Minister called on international humanitarian organizations, including the ICRC, to play their part and contribute to alleviating the suffering of the people of the district through the provision of food and medical assistance to them.
He also called on the international community to pressure to lifting of the siege imposed on the district, stressing that the siege is a war crime in accordance with international humanitarian law, and its continuation threatens the implementation of the Stockholm agreements, especially the Hodeidah agreement.
For his part, the UN official reiterated the ICRC's readiness to provide all forms of support to the Yemeni people and to contribute to alleviating their suffering.
