SANAA, Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdul Hakim al-Khaiwani on Monday placed a wreath of flowers on the tomb of the martyr President Saleh al-Samad and his companions in the 70th square on the first anniversary of his martyrdom.
Maj. Gen. al-Khaiwani, along with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the security and police, Major General Rizk al-Jawfi, a number of heads of departments, general managers and a number of officers have read Surat Al Fatiha on the spirits of martyrs who were martyred while performing their national duties in Hodeidah province.
The Deputy Minister of Interior said that the visit to the tomb of the martyr Saleh al-Samad is a station to remember his immortal positions and all the martyrs and follow their footsteps.
He stressed that the martyred president was an example of integrity, tenderness and sincerity and a model for a sincere political man who bears the responsibility of leading the country under difficult circumstances.
He affirmed that al-Samad has spared no effort to build the state and establish the principle of institutional action through his project "A hand to build the country and other to protect it".
Maj. Gen. al-Khaiwani also stressed the continuation of pursuing the martyrdom approach in building the country and defending the homeland.
He pointed out the need to draw lessons of sacrifice from the martyrs in defending the homeland and independence.
