SANAA, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Hussein Abdullah Makbouli met on Tuesday with the head of the Higher Committee for Elections and Referendum, Mohammad Abdullah al-Salmi.
During the meeting, which was attended by members of the Committee, they discussed the preparations of the Committee to hold elections for vacant seats in the House of Representatives as approved.
The meeting dealt with the necessary budget to conduct the work of supervisory and sub-committees to be able to conduct elections in these constituencies and to provide all the necessary inputs in addition to preparing the human cadres and the operational expenses necessary for the electoral process.
Al-Salami stressed that the decision to hold elections in these constituencies comes in the interest of parliamentary action as a legal procedure in line with the Constitution and the regulations governing parliamentary work, thus preserving the legislative institution to carry out its national role.
For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance expressed keen to work to provide all aspects of support for the success of the electoral process to fill vacant seats in the House of Representatives.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Finance will adopt and provide an emergency budget for the elections in accordance with the plans and programs submitted by the Higher Committee for Elections in favor of public interest.
