Dhamar governor Mohammed al-Bukhaiti on Tuesday inaugurated the national Ramadan campaign for consumer protection.

The campaign is implemented by the Office of Industry and Trade under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce during the period from Shaaban 15 until the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Governor al-Bukhaiti stressed the importance of the campaign in strengthening and monitoring field efforts on markets, apprehending violators and providing basic commodities, especially with the approaching holy month of Ramadan.

Al-Bukhaiti urged all concerned authorities and merchants to cooperate with the campaign's field monitoring teams and take into account the citizen's conditions, praising the efforts of the Industry Bureau in maintaining the stability of the supply situation, providing foodstuffs and controlling prices.

Deputy director of the industry for commercial affairs Nasher Amran explained that the campaign in which 15 teams are participating to monitor the markets includes all the province's districts.
