DHAMAR, A mass march was staged on Thursday by residents of Dhamar province to mark the first annual anniversary of martyred president Saleh Ali al-Sammad.

During the march, Dhamar governor Mohammad Hussein al-Maqdashi said al-Sammad's national project "a hand protects and the other builds" would continue to build the state and confront the Saudi-led aggression coalition.

Al-Maqdashi praised Dhamar tribes' steadfastness and constructive positions in defending the homeland and its sovereignty.

The participants stressed on the importance to unite the internal fronts to back the army fighters and food convoy to deter the aggression.

In April 19, 2017, al-Sammad was killed in air strikes by Saudi-led coalition in Yemen's western province of Hodeidah.
