The General Federation for the Sports of Persons with Disabilities is launching its activities for the current year 2019 in the second half of January by holding a youth tournament for people with motor and visual disabilities under the slogan "Despite the tragedies and siege our, sports create heroes."
The four-day tournament, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Disabled Persons Welfare and Rehabilitation Fund, is attended by 94 players representing clubs, centers and associations of motor visual disabilities in the capital Sanaa in weightlifting, basketball and volleyball games and chess for both categories.
The head of the Federation of Abderbo Hamid told Saba that the Executive Office of the federation intends early to establish a youth championship for people with motor and visual disabilities in five games played by people with disabilities motor and visual and to launch the activities of the federation for the current year 2019.
He pointed out that the competition will be held in the gymnasium of the General Federation for the Sports of Persons with Disabilities and sports halls in the clubs of the capital .. He stressed that the technical preparations are going according to what was planned within the program of tournament.
Hamid pointed out that the tournament is a continuation of the Union's activity in training and refining the skills of players with disabilities in different games, in order to discover talented players to be trained to represent Yemen in foreign sporting events in the future.
He called for cooperation with the federation to ensure the success of the tournament, which contributes to strengthening steadfastness to meet the current challenges, which is not a barrier to the aspirations and capabilities of persons with disabilities.
