The Governor of Hajjah, Hilal Al-Soufi, discussed with the Deputy Head of the International Red Cross Mission in Saada, Florin Idriscu, on Sunday the ICRC's interventions in the province.
The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the province, Muhammad Al-Qadhi, and the Director of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Allan Fadhail, and Agriculture, Engineer Yahya Al-Qadmi, and the Head of the Red Crescent Society branch in the governorate, Dr. Abdul Karim Nassar, reviewed the ICRC’s interventions in various sectors in the districts, and its role in implementing the unified agricultural plan and rehabilitation of the rehabilitation reforms infrastructure in the province.
He touched on the aspects related to verifying the beneficiaries of the hand plows project, the mechanism of installing and distributing them, and setting appointments for the implementation of the works.
He stressed the need to enhance the level of coordination and partnership to implement sustainable projects that contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens in light of the current conditions the country is going through, foremost of which are water and agricultural projects.
Al-Soufi urged the governor to expand the circle of interventions in well-drilling projects and the provision of solar energy systems.
He referred to the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Mabian water project and the role of the Red Crescent in providing shelter materials for those affected, stressing readiness to overcome all obstacles that impede the implementation of sustainable projects.
Florin appreciated the facilities provided by the governorate to implement the projects of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
