CAIRO, - Egypt's President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron have agreed on the importance of making efforts to avert the Israeli occupation's ground incursion in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking in a joint news conference with Macron on Wednesday, Al-Sisi said the announced of war is to eliminate Hamas and the armed groups in the Strip, adding that this matter requires very long years.
Six thousands civilians, half of whom are children, have been killed so far, he said, calling for taking into considerations this matter if the crisis continues.
Al-Sisi said he agreed with Macron on working seriously in order to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in a way, which meets the needs of 2.3 million Palestinians, according to Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
He stressed that the Strip has been under siege since 15 days, he said, referring to the cutting off electricity, water and fuel.
Al-Sisi noted that these basics have big repercussions on humanitarian state inside the Strip.
He stressed that he agreed with Macron on working to release more hostages and prisoners present in the Gaza Strip by calming the situation as much as possible.
He stressed Egypt's keenness on playing a very positive role in this crisis through understanding the reality of the Palestinian cause, which is the issue of the issues for Egypt.
He condemned the danger of inciting hate and anger that should be avoided to revive the peace process and reach a two-state solution.
Al-Sisi pointed out that the danger of the crisis in Gaza affects the whole region and the world.
Meanwhile, Macron stressed the importance of stopping current escalation in Gaza, lauding Egypt's efforts made since October 7 regarding the release of hostages kept by Hamas in the Strip.
He referred to more than 200 hostages taken by Hamas, calling for the release of them as soon as possible.
He indicated that international law is implemented to all, and France does not practice double standards and it always defends humanitarian values.
Macron said they mobilized fundraising to provide aid in Gaza and the West Bank, pointing out that he spoke with Al-Sisi on the legitimate rights of Palestinian people to a state and a political solution.
He called for making distinguished efforts to reach two states - Israel and Palestine - to live side by side in peace and security.
Macron affirmed the need to coordination amongst partners in the region and the world to combat terrorism, protect civilians and deliver humanitarian aid as well as solve the Palestinian cause.
He said "we" need to reach a peace initiative, avoid escalation and address the roots this problem.
He emphasized that France insists on water access to the Gaza Strip without any obstacles and resuming electricity supply, referring to sending a French navy support ship to Gaza's hospitals.
