Egypt, Iran urge aid access to Gaza

CAIRO, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday underlined the need to coordinate regional and international efforts to ensure humanitarian and relief aid access to the Gaza Strip.

This came in a phone call between both foreign ministers, which focused on the worsening field and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and ongoing moves to ease the humanitarian sufferings of Palestinians, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

During the phone conversation, the Egyptian minister cautioned against the spillover of the crisis, thus placing the entire region into jeopardy, it added.
