SHABWA, Yemen, The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, signed an agreement, to finance several renovation projects in Yemen, including at Ataq Central Hospital and six primary and secondary schools in Ataq and Mayfa'a in Shabwa Governorate.

The agreement includes the restoration of Ataq Central Hospital, Henishan Secondary School for Boys and Arwa Secondary School for Girls in Ataq, as well as, Azzan Secondary School for Boys, Azzan Primary School for Boys and Girls and Hafsa Primary School in Mayfa'a.

The agreement is part of the UAE's ongoing efforts, under the directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support development projects and infrastructure improvements, and restore normal living conditions in Yemen.

During the signing ceremony, Mohammed Saif Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC in Shabwa, highlighted the desire of the Authority to restore and rehabilitate local schools, hospitals and health centres, and provide them with necessary equipment.

Mohammad Ali Lemlis, Director-General of Education in Shabwa, and Nasser Ali Al Marzaki, Director-General of Public Health and Population, praised the UAE's firm commitment to support Yemen, through its various stages of reconstruction.

They also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the continuous support provided by the UAE and its humanitarian arm in Yemen, the ERC.
