EU to continue humanitarian aid to Gaza

BRUSSELS, - The European Union Wednesday said that it will continue to supply humanitarian aid to the population in Gaza.

"We are going to continue to work on ways to provide additional humanitarian assistance to people in need in the Gaza Strip," Balajas Ujvari, EU spokesperson for humanitarian aid told a news conference in Brussels.

"Yesterday the contents of two air bridge flights, 54 tons of humanitarian cargo made its way into the Gaza Strip, carrying food, water, shelter and sanitary items, he said in response to a question by KUNA.

"We are looking at additional flights to continue our air-bridge project and soon we will be in a condition to confirm additional flights to bring cargo from different humanitarian partners to Egypt and gradually to Gaza," he added.
