FM meets Iranian ambassador

Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf discussed on Sunday with Iranian ambassador in Sana'a Hassan Erlu ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in several fields.

In the meeting, the Foreign Minister referred to issues related to the lastest developments in the region, especially the current Iranian-Saudi dialogue, which would contribute to defusing tension and establishing stability in the region.

Sharaf stressed that any arrangements or understandings to enhance security and stability in the region and in the Gulf area cannot take place without ending the military aggression against Yemen, lifting the comprehensive siege imposed on the country, and reopening all land and sea and air ports, especially Sana'a International Airport.

Minister Sharaf drew attention to the efforts of the Salvation Government to improve the education in general and the academic education in particular, during seven years of aggressive war and the siege that disallows the entry of the laboratories' educational devices.

He expressed the hope that the country could benefit from the international expertise and experiences in various scientific and technical aspects, including the Iranian universities that may open branches in Yemen.

For his part, Irlu reiterated Tehran's assertion that no military solution can succeed in Yemen and that a peaceful political solution is the only solution.
