The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, on Tuesday met with the new Resident Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Peter James Hawkins, on the occasion of the submission of his appointment papers as UNICEF Resident Representative in the Republic of Yemen.
At the meeting, the Minister for Foreign Affairs wished the UNICEF Resident Representative success in his new assignments.
Yemen is witnessing the worst human-made humanitarian catastrophe created by the aggression coalition countries. Children and women were among the most affected groups in society by the aggression and blockade against Yemen.
Minister Sharaf indicated that the new UNICEF Resident Representative would find all forms of support and cooperation to facilitate his functions.
