Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday met with UNICEF's acting representative in Yemen, Sherin Varkey.

The meeting discussed details of the implementation of programs and projects carried out by UNICEF in Yemen.

Sharaf urged the UNICEF office to speed up the implementation of programs and projects within its competence, especially with the urgent need to redouble the humanitarian effort to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni citizens.

In the meeting, Varkey briefed Sharaf on nominating a new resident representative of the organization instead of Meritxell Relano.
