Foreign Ministry: EU’s description of Sana’a’s amoral

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen on Tuesday commented on the statement issued by the European Union (EU).

"While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the statement's affirmation of the sovereignty and independence of Yemen and the unity and territorial integrity of its lands, it denounces and condemns all the lies and fallacies contained in the EU statement regarding the issue of peace in Yemen," the Ministry said in a statement.

It believed that the European Union's description of Sana'a's demands as extremist is a horrific moral and ethical fall that would harm the European Union's hoped-for role in the issue of peace.

"It is a foolish description that does not help build trust and does not indicate any credibility in supporting the peace option."

The Ministry recalled that Sana'a's demands for any new truce have clearly focused on lifting the siege on Hodeida ports for fuel and basic commodities, opening Sana'a International Airport, stopping the theft of Yemen's oil and allocating its revenues to pay the employees' salaries in all provinces of the Republic without exception. "They are undoubtedly just and fair demands" the statement added.

The Ministry said that the European Union does not have to confirm its public bias towards the corrupt and thieves appointed by the aggression countries' will not the Yemeni people's,

Such bias "makes the European Union supportive of the war crimes committed against the Yemeni person and exposes it to legal accountability."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its permanent readiness for real peace, and its adherence to the fair demands of the Yemeni people as a necessary and crucial point for any serious and honest talks about peace.

Finally, the ministry called on the EU and the international community to amend their shamefulpolicies that have contributed and are still doing to exacerbate the Yemeni people's suffering, and they are clearly among the reasons that impede peace and prolong the war.
