General Al-Razzami deplores conduct of the other party obstructing course of negotiation

The Head of the National Military Committee of the Supreme Political Council in Sana' a General Yahya Abdullah al-Razzami, expressed on Friday his deep regret at the conduct of the other party's delegation to obstruct the course of negotiation sponsored by the United Nations.

This came during his meeting with members of the Special National Military Committee to discuss violations of the United Nations truce, and monitor the ceasefire, and open roads, with the Deputy United Nations Representative in the capital, Amman.

Major General Al-Razzami stressed that the absence of the other party's delegation to date was part of a series of complexities to obstruct any progress in the discussions, particularly with regard to the opening of roads in Taiz province.

"We no longer find any explanation for all these complications of the other side other than the lack of seriousness in alleviating the suffering of the people of Taiz, especially after the initiative we have credibly put forward."

"The insistence of the other side on a particular road and its disregard for other roads, which are a clear and logical solution to facilitate the passage of citizens and vehicles in Taiz as a first step, affirms that the intentions of the other side are neither a road problem nor a human relationship but other aggressive purposes."

The Chairman of the National Military Committee explained that meeting such conditions was a comprehensive solution, not a temporary armistice, whose provisions were clear to all.

"In the absence of interest from the other side, we are determined, God willing, to open the roads listed in the National Initiative unilaterally upon our return to the capital, Sana'a." He pointed out that this comes in the context of keen concern to alleviate the suffering of the people of Taiz.
