Health Minister calls on WHO to save conjoined twins

SANA’A, The minister of Public Health and Population called on Sunday the World Health Organization (WHO) to save the life of the conjoined twins who were born a few days ago in the capital Sana’a.

Taha al-Mutawakel added that the twins’ critical conditions require an urgent transfer overseas for the purpose of separating them as soon as possible.

Al- Mutawakel pointed out that the blockade imposed on Yemen and the destruction of the infrastructure of health facilities caused the collapse of the health system and exacerbated the suffering of thousands of patients who today are in dire need of travel and treatment abroad.

It would be better for the Saudi regime to stop its aggression against Yemen and lift the blockade it is imposing against the Yemeni people instead of offering for the treatment of the Siamese twins in its hospitals, the minister commented on the Saudi regime’s statement which offered its assistance to perform the operation.
