SANAA, Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel discussed on Monday the head of the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Franz Rauchenstein, the coordination between the ministry and organization to support efforts to provide assistance in the context of aggression and siege.
The Minister of Health praised the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross and stand by the Yemeni people especially in view of the country's aggression.
He called on the Red Cross to provide field hospitals and support them with equipment, medicines, and incentives and to organize workshops and training courses for the rehabilitation of medical personnel.
Al-Mutawakel said it is important for the ICRC to set up emergency centers, providing medicines and emergency medical equipment for health facilities and providing ambulances of their own.
He reiterated the ministry's readiness to facilitate the work of the mission in Yemen and all its employees.
In turn, the head of the mission of the ICRC's mission, affirmed the continuation of the Committee to assist the Yemeni people and the health sector, especially with regard to the humanitarian and health conditions disastrous in the country.
