The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, met on Saturday in Sana’a, with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi)’s Regional Director, Anne Cronin and the Alliance’s Senior Adviser who are currently visiting Yemen, aspects of existing cooperation to support the health sector.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary for the Care Sector, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mansour, and the Population Sector, Dr. Naguib Al-Qubati, and the Director of Funding for Immunization and Sustainability at the Alliance, Benjamin Lovison, aspects related to strengthening the partnership between the Ministry and the Alliance.

Al-Mutawakel said that the children most exposed to aggression are due to the spread of epidemics, the closure of Sana’a airport and Hodeida port, and the prevention of entry of medicine and food.

He pointed out that the ministry supports immunization and routine vaccination, referring to the difficulties related to vaccines, the progress of the immunization process and the safety of the vaccine.
