HODEIDA, Hodeida province acting governor discussed on Tuesday with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Yemen aspects of health support that the ICRC could provide to.
Mohammed Qahim and Katharina Ritz reviewed the need for continuing to provide services to the sick and wounded at al-Thawra Hospital and the West Coast Complex in Hodeida.
Qahim and Ritz also touched upon the needs of dialysis centers, including severe shortages of equipment, medicines, medical supplies for general emergencies, medicines, and hemodialysis sessions.
Qahim stressed the importance of international organizations’ intervention in supporting the health sector’s efforts to continue providing its humanitarian services, which the province still needs.
He stressed that the province leadership will provide the necessary facilities for the ICRC to implement its service, humanitarian, and relief projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens as a result of the aggression and siege.
In turn, Ritz expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the province leadership in overcoming the difficulties that contributed to the implementation of the ICRC’s activities in the province.
She assured that the ICRC would do its utmost efforts to facilitate the task of repairing the water pipe and restoring the supply of water to citizens.
