JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia- One ballistic missile, fired by Houthi militia, and targeted the Saudi southern city of Dhahran, was shot down in Saada province, in Yemen, the Saudi Civil Defence Command said, on Monday.
Turki Al-Maliki, the Spokesman, Colonel for the command, was quoted as making the announcement, in a statement, earlier in the afternoon.
Al-Maliki added that, the missile was launched, targeting Dhahran province, and more precisely, civilian and populated areas, underlining, the missile was shot down, two kilometres inside Yemeni territories.
The spokesman added, such aggression by the Houthi militia, that is supported by Iran, continues to show with proof, Iran's interference and support to armed groups, which is a clear violation of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231.
Last Thursday, the Royal Saudi Air Defence Force (RSADF), intercepted a ballistic missile, fired by the Houthis, towards the southern city of Jazan, south-west Saudi Arabia.
