DUBAI, United Arab Emirate- Decline of the Yemeni rial can be halted if international community put pressure on the Iran-backed Houthi rebels to release part of the money they took from the state income.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, said on twitter, that, the collapse of the Yemeni riyal represents "a fundamental challenge for the citizen."

He slammed the Houthi rebels for allegedly leaking five billion U.S. dollars from the state budget and praised "the Saudi's necessary and important initiative to support the riyal in these circumstances."

Saudi Arabia injected two billion U.S. dollars into Yemeni central bank in Jan.

The UAE is part of a Saudi-led Arab military coalition in Yemen, which has been fighting the Shiite Houthis since Mar, 2015, to support the internationally-recognised government, led by Yemeni President, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
