Humanitarian Affairs Council’s Secretary Generalstresses need to localize humanitarian work

Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, on Thursday stressed the importance of developing local institutions and localizing humanitarian work.

During an expanded meeting of organizations, associations and institutions working in the humanitarian field in Sa'ada province, Al-Hamli noted the need to find tangible work in the field according to the available capabilities in terms of helping the community and meeting its needs.

For his part, the undersecretary of the province for humanitarian affairs, Mohammed Hussein Baydan, noted the need to focus on developmental support, confirming that the Council branch and the local authority would help the organizations provide humanitarian service to the community.

Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, Sajjad Muhammad Sajjad, indicated to the importance of discussing the humanitarian situation and the problems facing humanitarian action. He appreciated the efforts made by the Council and the local authority to facilitate access points to implement humanitarian work.
