Ibb governor Abdulwahed Salah and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Ibrahim al-Hamli inaugurated on Monday the first phase to rehabilitate the main street of Ibb city.
The length of the main street of the city of Ibb, which starts from al-Odain Round to Jableh, is 5.4 km at a cost of 1.423,000 dollars, implemented by the Al-Mulaiki Foundation, funded by the World Bank through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
The project, which will be implemented over a year, aims to end the traffic jams on the main road that connects the province with the capital Sana’a, facilitate the movement of citizens, and revive the tourism, commercial and investment movement in Ibb.
During the inauguration, the Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Affairs Council explained that the launch of the first phase of the project comes within the framework of the Council’s interest in directing funds towards implementing development projects that alleviate the suffering of citizens in light of the aggression and siege.
