The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) discussed here on Wednesday with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) the needs of Hajjah province in the field of protection.
Director of SCMCHA's office in the province Allan Fadhayel reviewed with ICRC's Director of the Protection Department Maya Joel the ICRC’s role in communicating with the captives and the displaced people as a result of the current situation, and in restoring family ties, through coordinating efforts and facilitating prisoners' contact with their families.contact
Fadhayel stressed the importance of the ICRC's role concerning the prisoners at the other party, who have been separated from their families for a long time.
He pointed out the need of the ICRC to intervene in the protection in the Central Prison Reformatory in the fields of shelter, health services, water and sanitation.
In return, Joel appreciated the facilitations provided to the partners in the province, stressing that the aim of the visit was to identify, through SCMCHA and the partners, the need and to provide the necessary support.
