MOSCOW-Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed political approaches to solving Syria and Yemen crises.
At the meeting, the necessity of consultations between Tehran and Moscow on Yemen's developments and sending humanitarian aids to the country were emphasized.
The two diplomats also discussed topics of the next meeting of ceasefire guarantors in Syria namely Iran, Russia and Turkey to be held next week in Istanbul.
The previous meeting of Turkey, Iran and Russia was held in Sochi in November. It was followed by Syrian-Syrian national talks in the same city in Russia.
The Russian media have earlier reported that Iran's President Hassan Rouhani will meet with his Russian and Turkish counterparts on April 4 in Istanbul.
