Jordan's King Abdullah II and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas underlined the need to de-escalate tension in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and open crossings to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
The statement was issued by Jordan's royal diwan on Thursday, after the meeting between King Abdullah and Abbas in the Jordanian capital Amman, according to Petra.
The two sides called for opening emergency crossings and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza Strip, and provide water and electricity.
King Abdullah called on Israel to commit to international law and avoid attacking innocent civilians.
He added that Jordan is holding serious talks with regional and international partners to discuss an international action to stop violence against Palestinians.
The king also affirmed Jordan's full support to the security and stability of Palestine, adding that his country will continue to protect Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem.
