Launch of Joint Committee Between Sana’a University & Civil Service Ministry to Update Academic Staff Records

Sana'a: Sana'a University commenced on Monday the work of the joint committee between the university and the Ministry of Civil Service to update the records of academic, administrative staff and complete the necessary documentation through the Civil Service portal.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by the Ministry of Civil Service Undersecretary Al-Azi Al-Hattami, Sana'a University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mutaa, and Assistant to the President for Media Affairs Adel Al-Hababi, approved the continuation of the committee's work in updating records and completing documentation over the next ten days. This process aims to ensure the accuracy of information and fulfill the Civil Service requirements to support academic operations and enhance administrative performance at the university.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Civil Service Ministry emphasized that the ministry had reviewed the university's submitted forms and highlighted the need to precisely determine academic requirements in line with teaching plans and faculty specializations.

The discussion included reviewing examples of academic needs plans and teaching schedules, detailing course content, credit hours, levels, and semesters, along with the consolidated statistical model of courses.

The university president stressed the importance of updating staff records in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Service as part of the university's efforts to promote transparency, ensure accuracy in administrative and academic information.

He noted that the university faces increasing financial obligations related to maintenance, provision of necessary supplies, updating laboratories, and installing display screens in colleges and research centers. He also highlighted that providing academic positions for faculty members across various colleges is essential to ensure the continuity of educational and research activities efficiently.

Dr. Al-Bukhaiti explained that this initiative reflects the university's commitment to advancing knowledge, science, research, enhancing its academic standing, and contributing to producing competent graduates capable of serving the nation and society. He affirmed that enabling academic staff to receive their rightful employment entitlements positively impacts the quality of education and research at Sana'a University, leaving a tangible effect on advancing Yemen's development path.
