SANAA, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is scheduled to arrive in Amman on Sunday,as part of a tour in the Middle East, where he began to visit Cairo.
Lavrov is scheduled to meet Jordanian King Abdullah II and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Russian and Jordanian sides should exchange views on the current situation in Syria and the prospects for its development, in view of the continuation of the hotbed of tension represented by the situation in the border area between Jordan and Syria.
The ministry said that at the top of the agenda of the bilateral talks is to create the conditions for the return of displaced Syrians,including from the Al-Rikban camp, to their permanent accommodation as soon as possible.
The Russian foreign minister had met in Cairo with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri.
