Mahweet University Launches Coffee Seedling Cultivation Initiative

Al-Rajm:Mahweet University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Shalabi has initiated the cultivation and production of coffee seedlings at the College of Agriculture nursery in Al-Rajm city. This effort is part of a broader strategy to expand coffee cultivation on land owned by the university.

According to Yemen News Agency, the university is set to produce several varieties of Yemeni coffee, including Adaini, Dawairi, and Adaini Al-Bayad. The initiative is designed to enhance practical agricultural training, providing students with hands-on experience ranging from seed germination and seedling care to identifying coffee varieties and eventually transplanting them onto university land for further cultivation and production.

Dr. Al-Shalabi emphasized that the university will continue to support agricultural research and practical projects. By utilizing its land and resources, Mahweet University aims to promote coffee cultivation and contribute to agricultural development and self-sufficiency.
