KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the current developments taking place in Yemen, particularly in Sana’a.

To date, reports received indicate that Malaysians in Yemen are safe, the ministry said in a statement here today.

“The Embassy of Malaysia in Muscat, Oman, is in constant contact with Malaysians residing in Yemen. However, as the current security situation in Yemen remains fluid and uncertain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise all Malaysians to defer all non-essential travel to Yemen.

“All Malaysians in Yemen are also advised to register with the Malaysian Embassy in Muscat, Oman, if they have not done so,” he said, adding that Malaysians who require assistance or further information could contact the embassy at (968) 2469 8329 or (968) 2469 8643 or via email at mwmuscat@kln.gov.my.
