The Minister of Human Rights, Ali Hussein Al-Dailami, and the Assistant Undersecretary of Hodeidah Province, Mutahar Al-Hadi, inspected Wednesday the conditions of the Security Department prison in the Zabid district.
During the visit, accompanied by the director of the Human Rights Office in the governorate, Al-Dailami met dozens of prisoners held in connection with various cases, and heard from them the reasons for their detention.
Al-Dailami discussed with the director of security the conditions and issues of the prisoners and promised to contribute to addressing them with the available means and to work on resolving deferred cases in coordination with the competent judicial and security authorities.
The Minister of Human Rights was also briefed on the level of inmate care and services provided to them, stressing the importance of improving the conditions of prison inmates, within the framework of the rights guaranteed to them.
Al-Dailami directed the human rights office in the governorate to visit prisons and reformatories periodically to find out the issues and conditions of prisoners in the context of implementing the national resilience program and what is dictated by the tasks and competencies of the ministry and its offices.
He was accompanied during the visit by a number of directors of departments at the Ministry of Human Rights.
