Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah on Monday said that Daesh as a military structure and organization, bringing to attention the liberation of the last Iraqi city from the grip of Daesh.
"We are waiting for the final victory over Daesh to be announced by the Iraqi government," Sayyed Nasrallah said in a televised speech where he dwelt on latest developments in the aftermath of Prime Minister Saad Hariri's resignation from Riyadh.
Nasrallah disclosed that since the start of Daesh conspiracy in Iraq, Hezbollah has sent fighters there in coordination with the brothers in Iraq. However, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Party will withdraw its fighters from Iraq to another area once Daesh would be fully obliterated.
Nasrallah also branded the liberation of the Syrian border city of al-Bukamal- the last city held by Daesh in Syria- as a major military achievement, saying that such victory would bolster the unity of Syria.
"Disintegration scheme has failed," Nasrallah said.
However, the Party chief noted that "with the liberation of al-Bukamal, the state of Daesh has fallen... Yet, this does not mean that the group has been wiped out." He said that Daesh was still present in some parts of Syria.
Nasrallah also stressed that the people of the region should know who founded, funded and supported Daesh.
The Sayyed disclosed that the US air force has secured air cover for Daesh in al-Bukamal, with Daesh fighters moving openly in the area. He also said that the US air force neither struck Daesh fighters, nor allowed the Russian air force to do so.
Nasrallah said that the Americans have provided information to Daesh and ensured all facilities for the withdrawal of Daesh forces from al-Bukamal. He added that the Americans wanted Daesh to remain steadfast in al-Bukamal till the end, an additional proof of the US support to Daesh.
The Party chief said that the resistance axis was able to defeat Daesh in few years, while the American was saying that the elimination of Daesh needs 30 years. Nasrallah brought to attention what Erdogan has publicly stated that America funded Daesh.
Nasrallah paid tribute to all the fighters and combatants of the Syrian army and Iraqi resistance factions, as well as fallen martyrs and the injured for the great sacrifices and efforts which led to the realization of al-Bukamal liberation. He thanked Iran's tireless support to Syria, Iraq and Lebanon in defeating Daesh. He also thanked the Russian support in the fight against Daesh.
Nasrallah pointed out that the need for continual work and efforts to eradicate all the remnants of Daesh.
Turning to the Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting in Cairo, Nasrallah said that the label levelled aganist Hezbollah was not new, saying that the course of accusing Hezbollah and Iran is an American path. He indicated that "all those who thwarted America's scheme in the region will be punished through indicting them with them terrorism allegations."
On the issue of the ballistic rocket fired from Yemen toward Riyadh, the Party chief categorically denied any Hezbollah involvement in the firing of this missile, saying "Hezbollah has nothing to do with the launch of this missile or with any other previous missile."
Nasrallah also stressed that the Party has not sent any weapons or arms to Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait or Iraq. He assured: "We did not send weapons to any Arab country."
On the issue of stability in Lebanon, Nasrallah stressed that "the biggest threat to security in Lebanon is the Israeli occupation, and the most important factor to liberate Lebanon is the resistance with Hezbollah being its backbone."
"Resistance arms constitute the most important factor in preserving stability in Lebanon," Nasrallah said.
Hezbollah leader noted the presence of a great popular willpower to refuse any form of fighting, urging others not to interfere in Lebanon's affairs.
